Friends of the Gallery

The Hervey Bay Friends of the Gallery members are all volunteers with Hervey Bay Regional Gallery.  The gallery's success is in no small way thanks to the support of this experienced volunteer team. 

As well as assisting in operational roles within the gallery, the Friends (or FOG as they are known) are a wonderful presence during exhibition opening functions and other gallery events, helping out with reception and catering duties.

It is not all hard work however. The Friends meet monthly for a social get-together over morning tea or lunch at one of the Bay's many cafes and restaurants. The group also organises interesting day trips to galleries throughout the Wide Bay Region and beyond.

The FOG hosted a very successful Australia's Biggest Morning Tea event in the gallery/library foyer during 2009 (see images below) which raised much-needed funds for the Cancer Council.  Joining forces for the event were members of the Hervey Bay Friends of the Library.
